Mississippi Valley Montessori School is excited to welcome your child into our growing community of students. Before you enroll, we recommend scheduling a tour of our school and reading through all of our enrollment information.

Things to Know

  • Children must be 33 months (and fully toilet trained) to 6 years old.

  • Applications are accepted year-round.

  • Our academic year begins in late August and runs year-round.

  • Students can be enrolled at any time if there are openings. 

  • We have a 3-day phase-in period for new students. 

MVMS admits children regardless of race, color, national or ethnic origin, and grants them access to all rights, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its education policies and school-administered programs.

How to Enroll

  • 1. Schedule Your Tour

    After our initial phone call or email conversation, we will schedule an adult-only school tour during the morning work cycle. You will observe how the Children’s House functions and delight in seeing the self-directed learning take place.

  • 2. Apply for Enrollment

    If you decide MVMS would be a wonderful fit for your child following the tour, we ask that you apply by filling out the Application Form along with a non-refundable $75 application fee. Both can be sent to the school office at 1575 Charlton St., West St. Paul, MN 55118.

  • 3. Schedule Your Child’s Visit

    Once we have received your application, we will schedule a 30-minute visit for your child to explore the Children’s House. Your child will interact with the Lead Guide in our environment, meet other children, and work with the materials.

  • 4. Acceptance

    If the Lead Guide determines your child would benefit from the Children’s House environment, we will send an acceptance letter and enrollment contract.

  • 5. Official Enrollment

    Once we receive your signed enrollment contract along with your $300 deposit, we will hold a space for your child in our classroom.

  • 6. Phase-In Orientation

    We have a three-day phase-in period to gradually introduce your child to our Montessori programming. If your child starts in the fall, the phase-in period will happen as a group with all new students. If your child begins mid-year, you will receive a phase-in schedule once we have your signed enrollment contract. We are looking forward to having you as a part of our MVMS community!

Tuition & Fees

We work hard to make our extraordinary nonprofit school affordable for all families in West St. Paul and the surrounding area. We also offer parents the opportunity to volunteer for 10 hours throughout the school year, which reduces the overall costs of our school.

Scholarships

MVMS has several scholarship opportunities available to families who qualify for CCAP or Think Small scholarships through our school’s 4-Star Parent Aware rating.
